SPECSOFT's Capture and Hold feature was used to capture the output from

3 different LEDs installed in Lightspeed Technologies' HPLS-36 system.

We captured the LED scans in an order that would provide a trace representing the color of the LED.

LEDs have a fairly narrow bandwidth outpput, often between 30nm and 40nm FWHM (Full Width, Half Max). 

In the trace above, the blue LED output is narrower than the green but wider than the red.

The scan below is of the blue LED using SPECSOFT's beam profile calculations.

A curve (red) is being generated from the data that is used to calculate the center peak wavelength and FWHM output of the LED.

in this case, the LED output is centered at 465nm with 34nm bandwidth.

Typical data for the visible LEDs can be found on the HPLS-36 data sheet.  The HPLS is also available with UV and IR options.
